All About Mascara
One of my favorite must-have makeup items would have to be mascara. I absolutely love trying out different products and trying out new ways to apply them to achieve the best look for my eye shape. That is something to keep in mind when shopping for mascara- what works for one person may not work for you, being that the shape of your eye may require a different technique or simply that your eyelashes may be a different thickness and length than someone elses. For me, I have eyelashes that can easily be buildable depending on my choice in mascara, which for that I am fortunate for. After trying out many different ways of applying mascara, I have over the years found a look that has worked great for me. Keep in mind that my eye shape is more round, so if yours is different this may not be the best way for you. Heres what I do: I start with curling my eyelashes (which is something everyone should do!) to make them appear longer. The trick with this is to curl them right at the base of where your eyelashes start, so that way they go straight up to instantly look bigger. That usually does it for me and works well with the look I try to achieve, but if you want more volume then I would suggest following curling your lashes at the base with curling them once again at about the middle of your lashes, so they curl much more. I then start with a volumizing mascara and evenly coat each lash with mascara which will act as a base. I tend to use a mascara with a brush that is thicker, just so I know every lash is being covered. I also make sure to start at the very base of where the lashes start and work my way up, as well as coating both the front and back of the lashes which will instantly give a more volumized look. This may cause clumps, but that is okay because the next step will take care of that. I then take a lengthening mascara, and I tend to chose one with a brush that is thinner with bristles that can comb through the lashes easily, which remove clumps and make them look more even. I once again apply this to the front and back of my lashes to evenly coat each one. Keep in mind that if you do not achieve your desired look, that this step can be repeated more than once to build on the length. Also, be careful not to put too much on, as that can create a spidery look before you even realize it. Hopefully these tips helped!
