Something to keep in mind when purchasing makeup is the brand. Although many brands of makeup may seem harmless, chances are they are not. Brands like Maybelline and Mac Cosmetics are just some examples of popular makeup brands that often mislead how they make their products. Brands such as these and many others make and distribute their products by testing them on animals. If your like me and you care about the rights of animals and their well being, then read on because this is important to know when choosing makeup. Animals such as rabbits, mice, cats and dogs are used for testing on cosmetic products, many of which are killed after being used. Millions are tortured in labs every year and no one seems to be doing anything about it. I for one, am sickened by this. Many of you may be thinking that animal testing is an effective way to see if a product is potentially dangerous to humans. Well, although it's effective, it is essentially doing more harm to living beings than good. There are even many alternative and safe ways to test products, which many companies chose NOT to do. I know how hard it is to choose makeup products that are cruelty free. It can be extremely stressful and a hard transition. I know this first hand. I would never look or even think about where my makeup was coming from! But if you're thinking about making the transition, here is a list of many cruelty free brands for you to think about:
